One pot cooking solutions are best when you are too busy, with work on a weekday or too exhausted on a weekend, after a long day traveling.. and then hungry and completely lost what to prepare for the dinner or lunch, at the same time.
Here comes the savior for us and our family, one pot cooking solutions.
One pot meals are not only the solutions to cook something quick and easy but also a cinch to clean up your kitchen.
But here what we generally forget is the nutritional value of the meal. While making one-pot meal we need to choose those meals which helps our already exhausted body to heal and not harm at the end of the day.
The basic formula of a complete meal is 60% of carbohydrates, 20% protein and 10% fats.
Carbohydrates sources of the meal must be anything produced from the earth like wholegrains, vegetables and fruits and not the bad ones, which is processed and packed with hydrogenated fats.
Proteins sources can be eggs, any kind of meat and plant proteins like soya, legumes and mushrooms.
Fats comes from the oil used for cooking.
The above one pot meals have been cooked by me keeping in mind, the ease of cooking and the nutritional value.
1. Biryani- The biryani here is actually a vegetable biryani with a twist of fried boiled egg, a complete one pot meal with rice as the major source of carbs, egg and soya chunks as the protein sources and vegetables like carrot, beans, cauliflower as the additional sources which consist of all and very important for the food absorption in the body.
2.Egg fried rice- Again here I have put egg, but any meat can be put if somebody wants. When I make this, I also add the vegetables to make it complete and it also enhances the taste.
3. Bisi-Bele-bath/Khichdi- I generally make bisi-bele-bath as my son likes it more. Its the same as the vegetable khichdi in north side with a small twist.
4.White Sauce pasta- Pasta made up of semolina which is the source of carbs, sauce having major ingredients as milk, cheese & butter, mushrooms as protein source and then added vegetables like carrot broccoli and capsicum.
